Chocolate Book Tag

I was tagged by the fabulous TravellingInMyBookcase, thank you so much for tagging me :)
Chocolate and books huh? Somebody deserves an award for coming up with this idea! The idea is to compare your favourite books to types of chocolate. Let's see if this is possible, I might just get distracted with the idea of chocolate :P
Dark Chocolate – A book that covers a dark subject

War is never fun and there are no winners, no matter what people say. The war in Iraq is one of the most discussed ones in our modern day and definitely a subject with many grey zones. Difficult to read, but so very good and so very important.
White Chocolate – Your favourite light hearted/humorous read

This was a book that had me chuckling from the get go. Don't think I stopped smiling when reading it to be honest. Miranda is one of my favourite comedians as well, which only makes it better.
Milk Chocolate – A book with a lot of hype that you are dying to read

This seems like a really good book, and it is very hyped on the websites I have frequented. Looking forward to read it for sure.
Chocolate with a Caramel Centre – A book that makes you feel all gooey in the middle when you read it

I literally squealed with happiness reading this book. Levi and Kath are amazing and Levi is the ultimate boyfriend type. I want two. It is just so fantastic and the reason for why I fell in love with Rainbow Rowell and her writings.
Wafer-Free Kit Kat – A book that surprised you lately

I had to read this book for uni and started it thinking I would hate it. I was proved wrong. It is a hauntingly beautiful and honest account of Afghanistan during the 70's (although not a biography). I shed a few tears, my heart hurt and I was left feeling compassion yet hope when I finished it. Such an important and amazing book that completely pulled the rug from under my feet.
Snickers – A book that you are going nuts about

I mean, I just finished it, but holy crap is this book good?! Fantastic book, fantastic author and I want more! Now!
Hot Chocolate with Cream and Marshmallows – A book you would turn to for a comfort read

In all honesty, I would read anything Terry Pratchett when in need of comfort. But the witches are my favourites and this book was really good.
Tagging some bloggers then for Chocolate Book Tag:

Have you read any of these books? Did you like them? Are you a chocolate lover? Or do you not know what all the fuss is about?

Epic Reads Booktag

I am so sorry for the lack of updates lately, but I have been down with the cold. I'm much better now and therefore updates will once more be posted at least once a week.
Today I'm doing the Epic Reads book tag. I was tagged by Bella over at Bella's Bokblogg. I have to start off by saying that I'm absolutely horrible when you point a camera at me, but I made do. Hopefully, you will enjoy. As you might also notice, my editing skills are zero to none, so it is a very basic video.

Question 1: If you could invite one author and one of their fictional characters to tea, who would you invite and what would you serve them?
Question 2: What book do you wish the author would write a prequel for?
Question 3: Which two characters (NOT from the same book) do you think would make a good couple?
Question 4: If you ran in to your favorite author on the subway and only could say one sentence to them who is it and what would it be?
Question 5: What book made you a reader and why?
Question 6: Your bookshelf just caught on fire. Show us the one book you save.
Question 7: Which dystopian world would you want to live in if you had to choose one? Why?
Question 8: What is your most epic read of all time?
When you are done with the questions, tag some people and then do the book shimmy. (Cat's are optional)
I hope you enjoyed!

Update nr 1 for #hyllvärmare2015

I've finished my first book for the Take control of your bookshelf challenge I'm doing. It's Sweet Reckoning by Wendy Higgins (review). So that's one down, four to go. I'm making way with both Generation Kill and The Hobbit so I'm not worried about finishing those. The two books by David Eddings though... ah we'll see.

But hey, at least there is some success!

Book Haul December 2014

Thanks to the fact that my birthday was in November (I'm now 24 years young) I've received so many new books. The books in the picture are just a few of them, not to mention the books on my bookshelf that are just waiting for me to read them.

So what am I planning to read in December? Well, first of I've got a few books to read for Uni courses. They are:
  1. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
  2. The Help by Kathryn Stockett
  3. Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones
However, I am also planning to read for pleasure. I do know that I sadly enough won't have time to read all new books I now have. So I have picked out a few books that I'm planning to read, so you know what to expect:
  1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (which I've already started)
  2. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (for reasons)
  3. The Redemption of Althalus by David Eddings
  4. The Wishing Spell by Cris Colfer
To be honest, I'm a quick reader when I finally get into a book so there might be many more, but I will make no promises. If you have any tips or if you rather I read any of the other books in the picture or mentioned in previous post (not reviews obviously) don't hesistate to send me a comment.

Happy December!

The Ultimate Book tag

I was tagged by the wonderful Bella over at Bellas Bokblogg, thank you so much you lovely thing.

1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
Yes, I suffer from motion sickness so I pretty much can't do anything apart from watching the road when I'm in a car.

2. Which author's writing style is completely unique to you and why?
I keep going on about Terry Pratchett, but he is my favourite for many reasons. His writing style is on of the reaons. He's got great language, humour and is overall very unique.

3. Harry Potter series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
Harry Potter hands down. I grew up reading HP and it's one of my favourite book-series still. The HP world is unique and magical (surprise surprise), something I didn't find in the Twilight Saga. I love the fact that you get to see the characters grow up and develop in HP, and Rowling definitely teaches the lesson that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. All books are amazingly well written and the plot has a red thread, that Twilight most definitely don't have. I could write you a 100 page essay on why Harry Potter is amazing, so I think I better stop right about now.

4. Do you carry a book bag? If so. what is in it (besides books...)?
No I do not.

5. Do you smell your books?
Yes, especially when they are new. I love that new book smell, it's one of the great things about books.

6. Books with or without little illustrations?
Both. A book does not need illustrations but sometimes it's fun and adds a little extra to the book.

7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn't quality writing?
Twilight.

8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
Not that I can remember,

9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams which is 148 pages long (or short).

10. What is the thickest book on your shelf?
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare which is 1099 pages long.

11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
Nope. I had this dream when I was younger about becoming an author but I'm terrible at writing.

12. When did you get into reading?
I honestly can't remember. I have been reading since I was little. It probably started with picture books and then moved on from there.

13. What is your favourite classic book?
Haven't read that many classical books but Shakespeare is brilliant and Pride and Predjudice by Jane Austen is also really good, but overall none of the classics I've read have become a favourite.

14. If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated... what would you do?
I would say thank you but politely say that I've already read it and if it was possible to exchange it for another. If it wasn't possible I would still accept it. No need to hurt somebody's feelings.

15. What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
The Belgariad by David Eddings. It's such a fantastic series and it's sad that very few people my age have read it.

16. What bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging?
I have a bad habit of losing interest after a while and stop posting. At least with personal blogs. With this one I'm still interested and actually get a little sad when I'm not able to update it regularly. I also tend to abuse tags.

17. What is your favourite word?
Scheiße which is the german word for shit. I use it all the time when swearing.
18. Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
A nerd, and damn proud of it!

19. Vampires or Fairies? Why?
Vampires. Because they are fascinating and there are so many different kind of stories about vampires out there.

20. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
Please don't make me choose!!! Ahhhh!!! Well shapeshifters I suppose. Mostly because I really wan't to be one myself.

21.Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Werewolves because they are awesome. And wolves are fantastic animals.

22. Zombies or Vampires?
Vampires. One of my biggest fears ist that Zombies will be real one day... and I still use the ZombiesRun app when I run... fail.

23. Love triangle or forbidden love?
Forbidden love. Love triangels are usually badly written and often don't seem relevant to the story. At least not in the books I've read.

24. Lastly: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
Both can be great and it depends a little on what mood I'm in. But if I have to choose then it will be action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in.

I sadly enough don't follow enough book blogs at the moment so I can't really tag anyone. But hey, if you wan't to do it on your own blog please do it! And please feel free to comment, I really don't bite.
